Eszter Bobory-Küwen is a translator and sworn interpreter in English and Hungarian, authorised by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and by the Regional Court of Hanover for the German state of Lower Saxony. She translates and interprets for courts, notaries and companies throughout Germany.

Her career activity before her swearing in (2010):

• Teacher’s Assistant at the Roedean School in Brighton, England (1993–1994)
• Language and literature studies in English and Hungarian in Pécs, Hungary, graduating with the grade “very good” (1994–2000)
• Erasmus Scholarship program at the University of Osnabrück (1998–1999)
• Advanced Education program in adult education, Barnstaple, England (Summer 2000)
• Instructor in English Literature with a focus on Anglistics/American Literature, at the University of Osnabrück (2000–2002)
• Lecturer in Business English at the University of Osnabrück (2002–2011)
• Lecturer in Commercial English at the Tax and Business Academy in Düsseldorf and Kassel, also at the German Employees’ Academy in Osnabrück (2002–2008) 

Since her authorisation as a judicial translator in 2010, she has produced (among other work) certified translations, and interprets both simultaneously and consecutively in court proceedings. She was an interpreter at major historic legal proceedings such as the three most recent Nazi war crimes trials at the Regional Court of Lüneburg (2015), the Regional Court of Detmold (2016), the Regional Court of Münster (2018) and for the Irish Republican Army trial at the Regional Court of Osnabrück (2017). She has interpreted for the ZDF network’s national television program “Frontal 21” (2014).
